Erika Ostlie
Senior Policy Analyst
Erika M. Ostlie directs
policy research and data analysis. Holding
a Master’s degree in Criminology and
Criminal Justice from the University of
Maryland, she is an expert in the field with
over 15 years of criminal justice and legal
research experience. She has developed,
supervised, and analyzed data as part of
many evaluation surveys, serving clients
such as the National Alliance for Model
State Drug Laws, the Center for Substance
Abuse Prevention, and the National Crime
Prevention Council. Ms. Ostlie also writes
information briefs on behalf of several
government agencies, including the Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Administration and
the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of
International Narcotics and Law Enforcement
Affairs.
Ms. Ostlie has developed and implemented
several management tools that use current
data to promote accountability and
interagency cooperation, including the
CitiStat program in Rochester, NY. She also
supports the District of Columbia’s
Addiction Prevention and Recovery
Administration with coordinating drug and
crime data to inform policy. Recently, Ms
Ostlie facilitated a strategic planning
retreat for Virginia’s Region Ten Community
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services
Board. She was also a member of the team
that evaluated the effectiveness of the
State Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs
funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. |
