Projects
Carnevale Associates LLC is organized into three practice groups that work collaboratively to provide
value and insight to our clients. The following is a sample of recent projects lead by Carnevale
Associates, LLC.
D.C. Substance Abuse Strategy
Carnevale Associates, LLC guided the Nation's Capitol in the development of its first ever citywide substance
abuse strategy. The DC Substance Abuse Strategy demonstrates how performance planning can be utilized to
address cross-cutting social problems in urban areas. Carnevale Associates, LLC, was tasked with providing
support and guidance to the districts efforts to develop a strategy with goals, objectives, and performance
targets to measure progress and to develop a comprehensive inventory of substance abuse program spending
for all District departments and agencies.
National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws
Carnevale Associates, LLC, currently provides research, data analysis, and strategic planning support to the
National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws. Carnevale Associates, LLC, provides evaluation design and implementation
support for the Alliance's regional conferences. Carnevale Associates, LLC, is also responsible for developing policy briefs
on emerging substance abuse issues, including drug endangered children, methamphetamine, and prescription drug
monitoring systems.
New D.A.R.E.
Carnevale Associates, LLC, assists in the development and implementation of a wide variety of strategic communication
efforts. On behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Carnevale Associates, LLC oversees communications for the
University of Akron's Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Study: A Longitudinal Evaluation of the New Curricula
for the D.A.R.E. Middle (7th Grade) and High School (9th Grade) Programs. Carnevale Associates, LLC, provides communications
support, press tracking, and strategic planning support to the ASAP study staff as well as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
SAMHSA Action Plans
Carnevale Associates, LLC, assisted the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to develop
performance-based actions plans in support of its newly developed strategic plan. Carnevale Associates, LLC, facilitated the
activities of the working groups in each of the eleven priority areas identified by SAMHSA and developed standardized logic
models and action plans.
SAMHSA Strategic Plan
Carnevale Associates, LLC, assisted the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in its development
of an agency wide performance-based strategic plan. The strategic plan was developed using performance planning principles and
was synthesized based on priorities established by the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, SAMHSA,
and the interests of those in the mental health and substance abuse fields.
Rochester Drug Strategy
The drug strategy created in Rochester, New York, demonstrates how a public/private partnership can serve in the development of a
comprehensive strategic plan to address a cross-cutting social problem.
